Application of the non-uniform Fourier transform to non-uniformly sampled Fourier transform spectrometers

چکیده

Resampling by interpolation is the traditional method to process interferograms from non-uniformly sampled Fourier transform spectrometers. The non-uniform fast (NUFFT) an alternative approach that has been mostly overlooked. With aid of experiments on a high-resolution interferometer with variety optical sources, these two methods are compared. It found NUFFT comparable in spectral profile shape and noise levels better amplitude computer performance. A significant advantage also case under-sampling performance due unique non-periodic nature sampling. In addition, novel implementation presented analysed.

Sampled fourier transform hologram generated by computer.

A technique to determine a real nonnegative function representing the transmittance of a synthesized hologram is described. The technique uses the positions of the samples in the synthesized hologram to record the phase information of a complex wavefront. Synthesized holograms are displayed on a flying spot scanner and recorded on film. The transmittance of the synthesized hologram is quantized...

The Effects of Temporally Changing Sources on Fourier Transform Spectrometers

A Michelson Fourier Transform Spectrometer senses an object/material in the time domain, producing an interferogram. To produce a spectrum, the interferogram is Fourier transformed into the spectral domain. Unless filtering is applied to the interferogram, all the time changing (AC) components of the interferogram contribute to the resulting spectrum. Aperiodic signals are not easily removed fr...

M ar 2 01 4 A FRAME THEORETIC APPROACH TO THE NON - UNIFORM FAST FOURIER TRANSFORM ∗

Nonuniform Fourier data are routinely collected in applications such as magnetic resonance imaging, synthetic aperture radar, and synthetic imaging in radio astronomy. To acquire a fast reconstruction that does not require an online inverse process, the non-uniform fast Fourier transform (NFFT), also called convolutional gridding, is frequently employed. While various investigations have led to...

Finite Fourier Transform, Circulant Matrices, and the Fast Fourier Transform

Suppose we have a function s(t) that measures the sound level at time t of an analog audio signal. We assume that s(t) is piecewise-continuous and of finite duration: s(t) = 0 when t is outside some interval a ≤ t ≤ b. Make a change of variable x = (t− a)/(b− a) and set f(x) = s(t). Then 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 when a ≤ t ≤ b, and f(x) is a piecewise continuous function of x. We convert f(x) into a digital s...
